In 2019, the HOA board alerted homeowners that AT&T would be
digging and installing upgraded fiber-optic lines for
customers in the area.
Furgang says during that upgrade, they dug into her sewage
line.
"Water was coming up into the shower, and this was dirty
water," said Furgang. " I called a plumber on an emergency
basis he came out and snaked the line."
The plumber came three times and finally found what he
documents as an "AT&T sleeve" after digging around.

"Palm Beach County Water Utility came out and put a camera
down and were able to localize it and identified it as an
AT&T cable line," said Furgang.
Thousands of dollars later, Furgang says it is only fitting
that the company pays for the repairs and the damage she
believes they caused.
"I showed them the proof of the photos and AT&T referred me
to Sedgwick who handles their claims and unfortunately, they
were not responsive," said Furgang. "Finally they sent me a
letter of denial because they have no record of being at my
property."
