Just in time for the holidays the newest addition to the Oakbrook Beautification Program arrived. If you haven't walked or driven through the new part of Kings Rd. S., possible soon known as Mobile Home Park Oakbrook East, you can take a look at these pictures. I guess the neighbors in the Mobile Home
Park at SR 207 would be happy about these new "homes"? Just in case you're
not really well informed about the Real Estate market : property values
tend to go straight up - or was it down? - if your nice home is suddenly
part of a Mobile Home Park. And from what I heard from quite some Oakbrook
residents: we all must have missed the announcement of the public meetings
of the Oakbrook Architectural Review Committee, where these "Homes" were
approved?
It all started, when Darcy Partnership,
the Oakbrook developer located in Ft. Lauderdale, "sold" 31 lots to "another"
development company (see below) on 8-2-2001.
Since news travels fast in a small community
like St.Augustine the grapevine is already telling another story: the same
Leonard Mercer, the manager of Cardinal Development Oakbrook LLC, is the
President of International Housing Development Group Corp., as well located
in Ft. Lauderdale, a corporation responsible for building Mobile Homes
in Stonegate and Larkspur, two other St.Augustine communities. And, according
to very reliable sources, concerned homeowners in these communities are
in the process of filing a law-suit against this company.
