Questionnaire for Candidates for 2004 Election

Below is the blank questionnaire members of CCFJ., Inc. are mailing to all candidates for the Florida House of Representatives and Senate. We will ask the candidates to please fill out this questionnaire and return it by e-mail to quest@ccfj.net or mail it to our headquarters at:

We will ask our friends, allies, supporters and members to cast their vote for candidates who are willing to support our goals for the next legislative sessions.

You will find the responses of the candidates below as soon as they are coming in!

1.) Do you support the creation of a Homeowners' Association Ombudsman's Office with enforcement power, as established for condominiums?      
2.) Do you believe the Florida Homestead Exemption should protect homeowners and condo-owners from foreclosure by homeowners’ and condo-owners’ associations?      
3.) Do you agree that fines created by homeowners' and condo-owners' associations are unconstitutional, if not levied by a court of law? (See rulings of other State Supreme Courts!)      
4.) Do you support further reforms to protect the rights and welfare of consumers living in homeowners' and condo-owners' associations? (FS 190, 617, 718 & 720)      
5.) Should prospective buyers receive full disclosure information about all documents, including the CC&Rs, bylaws, HOA rules and financial statements BEFORE contract for sale?      
6.) Should false disclosure be punishable by law?      
7.) Should Community Association Managers be more strictly regulated and oversight of regulation be provided by Ombudsman's Office?      
8.) Do you support accountability of boards of directors to fulfill their fiduciary duty to follow and to enforce their governing documents and all applicable Florida Statutes?      
9.) Do you believe our state must enact laws that regulate and enforce statutes related to homeowners’ and condo-owners’ associations?
