SPEAKER BYRD APPOINTS SELECT COMMITTEE ON CONDOMINIUM ASSOCIATION GOVERNANCE 

-Representative Julio Robaina named Chair-

TALLAHASSEE - Speaker Johnnie Byrd today appointed Representative Julio Robaina, (R-South Miami) as chairman of the Select Committee on Condominium Association Governance. 

“Representative Robaina has the experience and leadership skills necessary to lead this important committee,” said Speaker Byrd. “Condominiums are a vital cog in Florida housing, and we must ensure they are being governed fairly and effectively.”

“Thousands of Floridians all across this state live in condominiums,” said Representative Robaina. “This Select Committee will work diligently to analyze how current laws affect condominium governance and condominium residents.”

The Select Committee on Condominium Association Governance will take public testimony and review current laws regulating the governance of condominium associations to identify any improvements in those laws that might be recommended.  The Select Committee will issue a report prior to the beginning of next session outlining any recommendations for legislation consistent with the committee’s conclusions.
