On this page we republished an unofficial
newsletter regarding problems in the RIVER REACH CONDOMINIUMS in Ft. Lauderdale.
After receiving the
letter below (scanned version) we have decided to pull the newsletters
from our WebPages as demanded. Not because of right or wrong, but because
we feel that there are already enough lawsuits pending regarding problems
in associations. In our opinion the newsletters were factual, especially
after looking in the court documents. That's why we re-published them in
the first place.
Our organization is trying to push for
legislation to solve these kind of problems, not to get pulled into the
litigation vortex!
In my opinion neighbors should be more
neighborly again. But it seems that our society has changed tactics. In
former times neighbors brought chicken soup to neighbors. Today they serve
liens, lawsuits and foreclosure papers. Is that what we wanted when we
bought into these mandated properties?
May be it's easier to threaten with lawsuits
than use common sense?
Please help us to convince our legislators
that it's time for reforms. We all bought our homes to live in peace, not
to get involved in association politics.
There is an old saying among property rights'
activists: "Every good association is only one election away from dictatorship!"
And since our home is for most of us the
biggest investment of our lives we should monitor carefully what our association
board is doing. Because we are in the end the ones paying for the mistakes!
