Please support CONDO BILL SB 2498 / HB 1223

Dear Senator ..................... ,

The Legislative Session 2004 is already 20 days old, but so far there is no movement on the above bill.  This bill would positively affect more than 2.5 million Florida citizens, many of whom live and vote in your district.  It is imperative that this bill be enacted, if you are interested in protecting the welfare of many of your constituents.

Unit-owners need government protection in form of an OMBUDSMAN'S OFFICE with enforcement power.  The current statutes leave the owners unprotected against the many reported abuses.

"Misery By Association" is a headline created by NBC-Channel 6/ Miami!  Is this what you have in mind for many people, especially retirees and minority groups unable to afford high-priced attorneys.  Remember:  Retirees and minority groups are VOTERS!

"Association" attorneys are ridiculing the sponsors of this bill. These are the same attorneys who profit most by maintaining the status quo and who create much of the "misery"!  Yet these legislators took the time to get familiar with the many problems unit-owners are facing.  Please listen to your colleagues, who objectively and thoroughly researched all sides of the issue.  Please listen to your constituents, rather than to the "special interests groups," whose only interest in the issue is continuing to profit at the expense of unit-owners!

Please support SB 2498 and see that it passes the Senate with a favorable vote and can be signed into law by Governor Bush.  Your constituents need your help!

Warm Regards,
Jan Bergemann
