BOCA RATON — In less than a year, three different
plans have been submitted for the unfinished Eden condominium project,
where the four-building condo sits today. The latest plan the city
received this week.
Developer Boca East LLC now is proposing 248
multifamily residential units at 300 W. Palmetto Park Road, according to
the new plan titled Boca East-Amendment # 5. It also calls for a new
one-story leasing office about 5,000 square feet, reconfiguration of
existing parking areas and demolition of some garages for new-surface
parking.
There's no mention of age-restricted units as the
previous plan, which developers called Parc at Eden, proposed.
An earlier vision submitted in December, under the
same name, called for 86 assisted-living units and 193 independent-living
units. On board was Atlanta developer Roy Dickson, with Parc Communities,
who was proposing to put end to the Eden saga by making it a luxurious
rental community. It would have a media center, a workout center and a
dining facility, and would consist of independent-living as well as some
assisted-living units.
Boca East is currently the subject of investigations
by the Department of Business Professional Regulation and the Economic
Crimes Division of the state's attorney general's office.
Their representatives were scheduled to appear
before the city's planning and zoning board this week to discuss their
April plan but asked that it be removed from the agenda. The newest plan
will come before the planning and zoning board June 19.
Eden representatives could not immediately be
reached for comment.
