Plans for a new 18-story Bliss condominium tower in St. Petersburg have neighbors on edge with some calling for it to be redesigned.

Residents at Parkshore Plaza, a 29-story luxury tower that will share a backstreet entrance with Bliss, say the traffic in the narrow street will become congested and dangerous, the Tampa Tribune said. Parkshore Plaza Condo Association President Janet Crane is among those worried about the 50 to 60 extra cars using the small side street and how it will affect property values.

“As we all know right now downtown St. Petersburg is hot. A lot of people want to live here. That’s one of the reasons Bliss is selling so well right now,” said Crane, who is asking that the project be altered.

Brian Taub, the developer of the Bliss project at 176 Fourth Ave. NE, said 21 of the 30 units have already been presold with prices ranging from $800,000 to more than $1 million, the Tribune said. Another building, Rowland Place, is under construction next to Bliss and has sold out all 17 of its units.
