It seems that there is never a boring day in the Association of Poinciana Villages. One fight among residents and board and management follows the other. More than 26,000 homes are governed by this master association.

Now residents oppose a deal the board struck with Spectrum, forcing sme of the owners to pay for services they don't want -- and they don't need.

Board claims that it's a great deal, but quite a lot of owners don't seem to be convinced.

At a recent town hall meeting owners voiced their opposition. Some owners don't want these services, others are afraid that they can't afford the extra cost and fear that they will face liens and foreclosure.

Owners are circulating a petition asking the board to change their mind. FS 720.309(2)(a) allows owners can be cancelled by a majority of voting interest present at the next membership meeting.

Time will tell if if owners opposing the Spectrum contract will get enough support from their neighbors to cancel the contract.
