ORANGE COUNTY -- Officials with Orange County are now figuring out the next move for families still living in a deteriorating condo complex.

A new report shows just how bad conditions are at the Blossom Park Condominium complex.

The exterior of the condo complex looks as though it is in need of paint, but according to the report, closer inspection shows damage to the facility's structure.

Dozens of pictures from the 300-page report show damage to the wood framing, support beams showing rot and on the outside, the stairs prove to not be sturdy.

Channel 9's Jorge Estevez found some of the families in the complex opting to leave.

Orange County offered a free month in a hotel and first month's rent of a new apartment for anyone who wants to move from the troubled complex.

According to the report, families at Blossom Park are in imminent danger because of problems found after Code Enforcement official visited the property.

"The engineer was able to go much deeper and look underneath and get inside it and look at the real conditions and see how bad it really is," Alan Plante with Orange County said.

A man who owns one of the condominiums told Estevez that it would be an inconvenience for him to move because he has already invested money and wouldn't want to lose the apartment.

The report only looked at the exterior and common areas and did not look inside the units.
