BOUNTY HUNTERS IN ASSOCIATIONS!

An Opinion By Jan Bergemann

Being born and raised in Germany I sure wasn't proud to read in history books what happened in my "Fatherland" before I was born. But when I read this announcement distributed by an Arizona management company, I realize that our homeowners' associations are really not far away from the system that was used in Nazi Germany to find "traitors" and other people unwilling to follow the party line. We can't be far away from the point where we see "Blockfuehrer" appointed to keep the people in line!

Actually, these are the same kind of people who are asking our legislators to again allow liens and foreclosures for fines without due process, just levied by a kangaroo court!

No wonder our founding fathers included a provision in the US Constitution that only government entities are allowed to fine our citizens. They sure would turn in their graves if they would read something like this!

This flyer says it all! There is really nothing to add!

GREAT NEWS

But first... you should know: It Is not our goal to make people feel that you have to spy on your neighbor(s), but we have a number of people that don't respect our property, the way they should.  As owners as well as renters you are paying to keep the property as beautiful as it continues to be, but it isn't CHEAP.  This is why the Board has come together, with the property management company [ APM ], and established a couple of opportunities for people to make money.

REWARD

If you see someone disposing of trash/junk and not putting it IN the dumpster, please call APM (480) 941.1077 as soon as possible with your observations and WHAT UNIT was responsible.  They in turn will be fined $250.00 on the spot.  YOU will get $150.00! APM will take your name and unit but not disclose it to the offender, DON'T WORRY!  We all need to do our part to ensure the continued value of our property even when others don't.  If you don't report these violations, you are sending the message that you support unneeded Increases in assessments due to hauling expenses.  After all, the trash company doesn't take it just because it's "in the area" of the dumpster! By reporting and rewarding, you have an opportunity to make up some of your expense!

REWARD

If you see someone walking their dog without a leash and/or not cleaning up after their pet, please call APM (480) 941.1077 as soon as possible with your observations and WHAT UNIT was responsible.  They In turn will be fined $200.00 on the spot. YOU get $100.00. APM will take your name and unit but not disclose it to the offender, DON'T WORRY! It doesn't matter If the owner finds their pet the "friendliest animal on the planet" and/or "wouldn't hurt anyone", what is not realized is that dog parks are a place to let dogs feel.  While walking a pet around the property, anything could spook an animal, causing it to react in a defensive manner that could harm someone, people have been attacked on the property.

APM (Associated Property Management) is a "proud" founding member of the Arizona Association of Community Managers. The list of members of the AACM reads like the Who is Who of the Community Associations Institute in Arizona.
