HOUSE ECONOMIC AFFAIRS COMMITTEE

 HOUSE BILL 5005

This committee will hear on Thursday, March 24, 2011 at 8:30 a.m. in the Reed Hall (102 HOB)    the above bill. This bill will destroy what little protection there is for owners in condos, co-ops and mobile home parks -- and even homeowners' associations. The bill itself is badly written and provisions contradict itself.

The bill will remove the licensing requirements for community association managers in the future. All criminals and former CAMs, whose licenses were suspended, can again work as CAMs.

Here is a letter written by attorney Eric Glazer to bill sponsor Representative Esteban Bovo, that more or less says it all:

No matter how you feel about community associations and community associations managers:

IT'S A REALLY BAD BILL!
Please contact the committee members and ask them to VOTE NO on this horrible bill!
