For the 27 years that the Boca Lago community
has been in existence, it's 1,700 condo owners have not had to be country
club members to enjoy the country-club amenities.
Board members, citing a lack of funds,
say they want to change that, and are looking at a proposal that would
force all condo owners to also buy into the country club.
The plan would bring more money to the

club, but for club, but for condo owners who
eventually want to sell, it means something else.
"People are scared
to buy because they don't know what is going to happen after they buy property,"
owner Graciela Bejarano said.
But board members say the proposal is the
only way to maintain the quality of life at Boca Lago.
"It doesn't take a genius to know if the
club goes down, so does the quality of life here at Boca Lago, and so |

will the values of our homes," said board
member Arnie Schwartz.
A scuffle broke
out at a meeting over the issue Thursday night. No injuries were reported.
A final vote on the issue is expected in
three weeks. |
