We need residents of HOA-controlled gated
communities to submit to the following Florida Legislators succinct one-page
testimonies of how they have been abused by HOA tyranny.
Please email any and all descriptions of your abuse to State Sen. Alan Hays,
[email protected], and [email protected]. They are
assembling data to present at the new session of the Florida Legislature, which
begins in January. They hope to bring under state sanction out-of-control HOA
boards of directors, as well as professionals including large, polyglot property
management firms and highly paid lawyers whose fees could exceed $1,000 an hour.
Drafts of letters of legislative requirements have been shared with legislative
HOA committee members. One stipulation is a requirement that fines imposed by
HOA board of directors be back-loaded until sale of parcels in HOA communities.
Other problems of HOA tyranny are under consideration. The solons need your
input concerning how your lives have been severely impacted by out-of-control
HOA tyranny.
A point of contention at St. Lucie West involves a directive by an HOA property
manager that pulls the entry access of a family of an physically handicapped
mother and wife.
Remember the old Latin dictum, "Silence is consent."
