TALLAHASSEE · Florida seniors and the uninsured can get help finding the lowest cost prescription drugs on a Web site being touted by state officials.

The Web site -- www.MyFloridaRx.com target="_new" -- ( en Espaņol ) provides pricing information on the 50 most commonly prescribed drugs in Florida, letting people compare costs among retail pharmacies and see how much generic equivalents cost when they're available.

The site also lets customers compare prices for prescription drugs in their particular cities, and even in their ZIP codes.

Attorney General Charlie Crist and the Agency for Health Care secretary, Alan Levine, unveiled the Web site Wednesday, along with state Sen. Durell Peaden, R-Crestview, and Rep. Frank Farkas, R-St. Petersburg, who sponsored legislation creating the site.

The site shows what an uninsured consumer would normally pay in a particular area for a certain drug.
