You may have heard that the U.S. Senate did not approve its proposed five-year $11 billion Medicaid cut. The vote was 53 to 43 on March 10 during debate on its 2005 budget resolution.

However, the House budget proposal, still in the works, is expected to include up to $2.2 billion in cuts to federal Medicaid funding over five years.
