Chris Stagman
Candidate for Florida House of Representatives  District 29

INTRODUCTION
Statement from the candidate :
Dear Friend,

Our state faces many pressing problems. Specifically, we must improve the quality of our public schools, expand affordable health care, ensure that the needs of our children, working families and senior adults are being met and maintain an economy based on good paying jobs and clean industry.

Like you, I want to do something about these issues. That's why I'm running for the Florida House of Representatives.

As a health and human services professional with "hands on" experience in governmental and community affairs, I have seen first hand the issues that most directly affect the lives of all our citizens.

As your Representative in Tallahassee, I will use my experience to stand up for you and make our community a better place for all our residents. Please help me fight for a more prosperous future for Florida.

Thank you for your help and support,
                                                                          Chris

X*** Yes, if no provisions are made to designate a funding source.

Please explain the top priority you intend to advocate for if elected:
The reform of education in this state is critical to the future of Florida. With overcrowded schools, underfunded teachers often make up supply shortfalls out of their own pockets, and school administrators and school boards find they have to cut some programs to fulfill basic education requirements. Classroom overcrowding, the recruitment and retention of good teachers and a return to the education basics can be achieved. In a $ 50,4 billion budget where major tax breaks have been given to corporations and turkeys such as the Golf Hall of Fame ( $ 2 million ) have been funded, it is time to pare the budget down to essentials and use those give-away moneys to adequately fund public education.
