Since
2002 State Representative Julio Robaina has fought for the rights of condo
owners and homeowners living in Florida's community associations. He has
been the strongest consumer friend we've had in the Florida legislature in past
years and he fought for a lot of consumer-friendly bills to help
associations and owners -- much to the dismay of special interest.
If
condo owners and homeowners ever had a friend in the Florida legislature, it
has been Representative Julio Robaina. He has spent endless
hours listening to tales of our plights and he has tried his best to help
us -- Florida's citizens! Without him we would still be in the Dark Ages of
unprotected community association living as we were prior to 2002, when he
was first elected State Representative.
Being
the owners' champion DID NOT
make him any friends in Tallahassee, and he stood up for us at all times. NOW HE NEEDS OUR
HELP!
Special
interest is so upset about Robaina trying to help us owners that the law
firm of Becker & Poliakoff -- the law firm to blame for most of the
problems with Florida's community association laws -- is paying their own
lobbyist to run as their candidate against Julio Robaina's quest for the
Florida Senate seat District 36.
The
Diaz de la Portilla brothers are known champions of special interest. Last
year Senate Majority Leader Alex Diaz de la Portilla was
personally responsible for killing all consumer-friendly bills that would
have held banks liable for association fees and would have helped
associations to cope with the financial disaster they are facing.
The
U. S.
election system is dependent upon campaign funding, which leaves special
interest supported candidates in an unfair advantage over consumer
champions.
And
since Julio Robaina has been our VOICE IN TALLAHASSEE for many years,
it is up to US to help him finance his campaign.
