KEVIN AMBLER -- RUNNING ON AN ANTI-HOMEOWNER PLATFORM

An Opinion By Jan Bergemann, President

February 21, 2010

Representative Kevin Ambler, now running for Florida Senate Seat District 12, has proven over the years that he is one of the worst enemies that homeowners living in mandatory homeowners' associations have in the Florida House. As a member of the House Select Committee on Condominium and Homeowners' Association Governance he made sure everyone knew he was an attorney and then proceeded to give wrong advice to numerous homeowners who made presentations and who asked questions.

Following the Select Committee hearings, Ambler proceeded to undermine the finish work of the Select Committee by filing his own HOA bill -- a bill which was in total opposition to the testimony the committee heard from homeowners. Last year's House Bill 27 -- followed by this year's HB 115 are an absolute insult to every honest homeowner who ever owned property in a mandatory homeowners' association in Florida. There was a reason that these bills were dubbed

"THE ATTORNEYS' FULL EMPLOYMENT ACT."

His disregard for the opinions and wishes of his constituents is obvious -- no doubt about it! The voters in Senate District 12 have to make sure that a legislator like Kevin Ambler can't continue his work of promoting his personal agenda that is detrimental to the wishes and needs of his constituents.  The voters must support Ambler’s opponent in the race for the senate seat. Legislators like Kevin Ambler have done enough damage to the welfare of Florida and its citizens!

I know it's short notice, but if you live in the Tampa area and have time on Tuesday, February 23, 2010 at 6:30 p.m., please go to his town hall meeting and let him know that his so-called reform attempts are an outrage and will cost owners even more money and offer no solutions to their problems.

In the agenda it calls for discussions regarding HOA/Condo Associations, meaning it's a good opportunity to make your voice heard! Here is the official notice of the meeting:

Do you have questions and/or concerns about...

        · HOA/Condo Associations
      · The 2010 Florida State Budget for Education
      · Public Safety
      · The State Medicaid Program

Please join us for a Joint Town Hall Meeting with
State Representative Kevin Ambler &
State Senator Victor Crist

Let's make sure Kevin Ambler understands that his actions are in direct opposition to the interest of Florida 's homeowners. We have suffered enough from legislators with private or special agendas that ignore the wishes and needs of their constituents!

AMBLER IS NOT THE KIND OF LEGISLATOR

FLORIDA NEEDS IN THESE TURBULENT TIMES!
