By now you have had a chance to read your October & November 2002 Chimney Sweep.  Many telephone calls have been received due to the incomplete information.
Many residents have had questions, such as:

  • What kind of legal actions were brought against CLOA by “disgruntled” members?
  • How much of our money has been spent on attorney’s fees in the last year?
  • How do you get better notice of CLOA Board Meetings and what form are you required to fill out to speak at a CLOA Board Of Directors Meeting?
  • Why are the Board of Directors Meetings not held at a regular time of the month such as the 4th Thursday of the month as they were in the past?
  • How do you get a proxy for the upcoming Chimney Lakes Annual Meeting and how do you fill it out properly to make it legal?  Almost half of the Residents of Chimney Lakes never received a proxy in the mail last year due to poor record keeping of the old management company and mailing errors.
  • Why is the Finance Committee not notifying the Board of Directors about the 40% Delinquency Rate and Conflicts of Interests of CLOA contractors?
  • How do you get an application to serve on the following boards and committees? Board of Directors Recreation Committee   Nominating Committee Finance Committee Architectural Review Board Communications Committee Landscape & Maintenance Committee Neighborhood Rep. Committee
Due to obvious space constraints in the Chimney Sweep, more detailed information is impossible to provide in the newsletter.  Answers to residents’ questions can be provided more efficiently and completely via the Internet.  To be better informed of when meetings are held, what information is on the internet, or how to get a form or application, please send an email to:

As I am sure that you are aware, the Chimney Lakes Owners Association has 10 days to provide examination of these documents. After that time has expired, the association will be required to pay a $50.00 per day fine.
