THE VILLAGES

Members of the property owners association of The Villages have sent out a new survey asking residents about a number of issues concerning The Villages.

The associations second annual survey appeared in this month’s edition of its bulletin, and asks residents to rate topics on a scale of one to 10.

Topics include traffic in The Villages, entertainment programs, condition of golf courses, green fees and more.

Joe Gorman, president of the Property Owners Association of The Villages, said the survey was being conducted because some residents felt the official survey conducted by The Villages officials was “too general.”

“We’re trying to understand people’s thoughts and attitudes on a variety of topics,” Gorman said. “The survey done once a year by The Villages is so general, I’m not sure anything comes out of it.”

He said once the survey results are collected in about a month, some items would be looked into further.

The association recently conducted a resident survey concerning the fate of the Paradise Center and presented the results to the government arm of The Villages.

The board of supervisors of the Village Center Community Development District are waiting for results of an engineering survey before they decide whether to build a new community center or repair the existing one.
